Johnstone's AquaGuard Primer Undercoat is an innovative water-based primer and undercoat specifically designed for interior wood, and also suitable for metal surfaces. It offers the performance benefits of a traditional solvent-based product with the advantages of a water-based system, including quick drying times and low odour. This versatile primer undercoat provides excellent adhesion to previously painted surfaces and most porous substrates. Crucially, when applied over bare timber, it effectively blocks resins from staining through into the final finish, ensuring long-lasting clarity and colour. It creates a smooth, opaque base, making it the perfect foundation for Johnstone's AquaGuard Gloss, Satin, or Matt topcoats, contributing to a professional and durable finish.
